Common questions
It says "No games found"
The app lists games your launchers have already installed. Steam, Epic Games, Xbox and Battle.net are on to start with; EA, Ubisoft, GOG and Rockstar are switched on under Add Game → Game Sources.
If you do have games installed, Windows may be blocking the app from reading your files. Open Windows Settings → Privacy & security → File system, turn it on for Encore Game Launcher, then reopen the app.
How do I open it in the Xbox Game Bar?
Press Win+G, open the Widgets menu and choose Encore Game Launcher. Pin it to keep it there whenever Game Bar is open.
How do I get covers, banners and logos?
Artwork comes from SteamGridDB, which needs a free API key: create an account at steamgriddb.com, open Preferences → API, and paste the key into the app's Settings. New games then get artwork automatically, and the download button in the app fetches it for your whole library. Release years work without a key.
How do I see my Steam friends?
Get a free Steam Web API key at steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey, paste it into Settings and turn on Steam Friends. Your Steam profile's friends list needs to be visible for it to work, and a friend's game only shows if their game details are public.
An emulator game won't start
Open Add Game → Game Emulators → Emulator Settings and check that the emulator's location is right. Its launch arguments can be changed there too, or restored to the default with the button beside them. Encore doesn't include any emulators or games; it starts the ones you already have.
How do I use Web Remote on my phone?
Turn on Web Remote in Settings and scan the QR code with your phone (it must be on the same network as your PC). The first time, Windows may ask whether the app can use the network: allow it on private networks.
How do I move my library to another PC?
In Settings, choose Export Backup. On the other PC, choose Restore Backup on the welcome screen, or Import Backup in Settings. Backups include your covers, folders, groups, play history and settings, but not your API keys, which you enter again.
Where is the crash log?
In the app, open Settings → About → Open Folder. The file is
crash_log.txt. It stays on your PC unless you send it to us.
